The Central Deposit Insurance Corporation of Taiwan (CDIC) and the Croatian Deposit Insurance Agency (CDIA) entered into an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 20 March 2024. CDIC President Annie Cheng and CDIA CEO Marija Hrebac signed the MOU on behalf of the respective organizations in Taipei and exchanged experiences as well as recent developments at a bilateral meeting. The MOU establishes formal cooperative relations between the two organizations with a goal to promote experience sharing, exchange and cooperation between Taiwan and Croatia.
The CDIC and the CDIA are both members of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI). Through the exchange platform provided by the IADI, the two sides have established mutually friendly and cooperative relations. The signing of the MOU will further enhance exchanges and information sharing between both sides and pave the way for closer cooperation. In addition to signing the MOU, the CDIA also had a bilateral meeting with the CDIC to learn about the policies and practical experiences of Taiwan's deposit insurance system, public awareness activities and deposit insurance fund management and investment. The CDIA also exchanged views with the CDIC on deposit insurance and resolution related practices in Croatia.
In the future, the CDIC and the CDIA will carry out ongoing information sharing and personnel exchanges to share expertise and experience, to help their respective organizations advance the deposit insurance systems, and to further protect the rights and interests of depositors.
