CDIC Executive Vice President (EVP) Yvonne Fan participated in the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) 78^th Executive Council (EXCO) and associated meetings, including the Analysis Council Committee, Policy Council Committee and Implementation Council Committee in Basel, Switzerland from 27 to 29 February 2024.

CDIC EVP Fan participated in the 78^th EXCO meetings to discuss various IADI's matters, including the new IADI Council Committees arrangements. During the EXCO meeting, the IADI 2024 work priorities, IADI governance structure, IADI Core Principles review workplan, and IADI Financial reports and Annual Plan 2024 were approved. The review and update of the IADI Core Principles is at the heart of the 2024 work programme and a new High-level Steering Group lead by Ms. Leah Anderson, CEO of CDIC Canada was established to provide strategic direction and oversee this project.

Furthermore, CDIC EVP Fan was appointed by the EXCO as the Chairperson of the Analysis Council Committee. During the 78th EXCO events, she chaired the inaugural meeting and issues on review of ongoing initiatives and research projects, future projects and priorities of the research topics, and the process for developing of the Council Committee workplan were discussed.

IADI domiciled at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland was established in May 2002. Currently it has 125 members, including 97 Members, 11 Associates and 17 Partners. Since 2002, CDIC has been actively participating in IADI activities as a founding member of the Association, promoting important IADI activities and joining the decision-making process as a member of the EXCO since 2003, which is responsible for IADI's major policies.
