CDIC Executive Vice President (EVP) Yvonne Fan led a delegation to Buenos Aires, Argentina in late October 2022 to participate in a series of meetings of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI), including meetings of the Executive Council and the Council Committees, the 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Annual Conference. CDIC EVP Fan also chaired the meeting of the Core Principles and Research Council Committee. Two hundred and sixty (260) participants from approximately 80 jurisdictions worldwide attended the events. The participants consisted of representatives from deposit insurance agencies, financial supervisors and central banks, as well as international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Bank for International Settlement and the Financial Stability Board.
IADI was established in May 2002. Currently it has 119 members, including 92 formal members, 10 associates and 17 partners. Since 2002, CDIC has been actively participating in IADI activities as a founding member of the Association. In the Annual General Meeting, CDIC’s EVP Fan was re-elected as one of the Executive Council members for a term of 3 years with the responsibility of promoting important IADI activities and making decisions of major policies.
The IADI Annual Conference, titled "Storm Clouds on the Horizon: fostering resilient safety-net for uncertain times", featured presentations and panel discussions on key issues affecting the global economy, financial stability, deposit insurance and bank resolution.
