The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Vietnam (DIV) and the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) held a virtual Workshop on 16 August 2022 on the theme of Resolution of Trouble Financial Institutions and Asset Liquidation.
The CDIC Chairman Mr. Norman Chu delivered an opening remark. President Mr. William Su, three Executive Vice Presidents and staff from CDIC’s relevant departments also attended the virtual Workshop. Ms. Meir-Shin Wang, Deputy Chief of the Resolution Department of the CDIC, shared experiences in the issues relating to the legal bases for resolution and asset liquidation of trouble insured institutions, collaboration among financial safety net participants, resolution processes, measures and methods as well as the preparation and procedures for asset liquidation in Taiwan.
The CDIC and the DIV have maintained a good cooperative partnership since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in 2006. Both parties will continue to share information and exchange experience in the future to help advance their respective deposit insurance and bank resolution mechanisms, and to further protect the rights and interests of depositors.
