CDIC President William Su led CDIC staff to participate in the 20th International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) Annual Meeting and International Conference, which were virtually hosted by the Deposit Protection Agency, DPA Thailand from 20 to 21 July 2022.
In the Annual Meeting, President Su, as the Designated Representative of CDIC Taiwan, joined the discussion of major APRC administrative issues. In addition, he also provided insightful views on the proposal of the establishment of the Joint Task Force on Strategic Priorities and Action Plans, whose objectives are to conduct a review on the APRC’s effectiveness and reflect items of the IADI 2022-2026 Strategic Goals into the APRC activities.
The International Conference was themed on Gearing Towards the New Financial Landscape. Speakers presented issues focusing on evolution in the global and domestic financial landscapes and on how regulators and deposit insurers embrace financial revolutions. President Su was invited as a speaker, sharing the CDIC's experience on utilization of supervisory technology of the internet-only banks in Taiwan. The presentation ended successfully with positive feedbacks from the participants.
