The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) held the 72nd Executive Council (EXCO) meetings including the Core Principles and Research Council Committee (CPRC), other Council Committee meetings, Technical Committee meetings and Regional Committee meetings virtually from mid to late March 2022.
In the Executive Council Meeting, the approval of the member applications from Oman, Bermuda and Armenia deposit insurance organizations were ratified and the updated member compositions of the Council Committees were approved. CDIC President Mr. William Su participated in the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) ad hoc virtual meeting and discussed the APRC initiatives for the fiscal year 2022-2023. In addition, CDIC Executive Vice President (EVP) Ms. Yvonne Fan participated in the 72nd EXCO meetings, and chaired the CPRC meeting. The work plans of the Financial Cooperatives Technical Committee, the Periodical Review of IADI Guidance Papers Technical Committee and the Financial Technology Technical Committee, the CPRC Annual Policy and Research Plan for FY 2022/2023, and the Roadmap for Developing the Handbook of the Core Principles for Effective Islamic Deposit Insurance Systems were approved.
IADI domiciled at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland was established in May 2002. Currently it has 116 members, including 90 formal members, 9 associates and 17 partners. Since 2002, CDIC has been actively participating in IADI activities as a founding member of the Association, promoting important IADI activities and joining the decision making process as a member of the EXCO since 2003, which is responsible for IADI's major policies.
