CDIC Executive Vice President Yvonne Fan led a delegation to attend the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) Annual Meeting and the International Conference of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) hosted by the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) in Fukuoka, Japan in late-May 2023. About 100 participants from 35 jurisdictions attended the events. The participants consisted of representatives from deposit insurance organizations, financial supervisory agencies and international financial organizations.
In the Annual Meeting, Executive Vice President Yvonne Fan, as the Designated Representative of CDIC Taiwan, joined the discussion of major APRC administrative issues, the action plan developed by the Joint Task Force on Strategic Priorities and Action Plans, as well as the re-appointment of the President and CEO of Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) Mr. Roberto Tan as the APRC Vice Chairperson. In addition, Executive Vice President Fan promoted the next 22nd IADI APRC Annual Meeting and International Conference to be held by the CDIC in Taipei in late-April 2024 and welcomed all the APRC members to join the event.
The International Conference entitled “Evolving Towards a New Era: Renovating Traditional Tools and Integrating New Approaches by Deposit Insurers” consisted of three sessions, which mainly focused on discussing trends and potential risks from global and regional perspectives, evolving deposit insurers with renovated tools and new approaches and enhancing regional cooperation towards research and capacity building from regional perspectives. During the Conference, most of the participants discussed deeply with experts from different jurisdictions about financial supervision and deposit insurance issues and exchanged professional opinions.
