The CDIC Chairman Michael Lin led a delegation to attend the NDIC’s 30th Anniversary and a Book Presentation in Nigeria in mid-October 2019, and was invited to deliver a celebration remark during the gala dinner.
On 21 October 2019, the NDIC was celebrating its 30th Anniversary by starting with a lecture on “Emerging Risk and Corporate Governance Issues in Banking”, followed by a public presentation of the book: 30 Years of Deposit Insurance System in Nigeria. The event gathered important guests internationally and in the Nigerian Financial System, including Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, the representative of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI), Mr. Nikolay Remchukov, as well as Chairman and CEO of Uganda Deposit Protection Fund, Mr. Ben Patrick Kagoro and Ms. Julia Oyet respectively.
To promote bilateral exchanges of experiences and information, the CDIC and the NDIC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in August 2019, and have established formal cooperative relations. The CDIC delegation’s visit led by Chairman Lin is beneficial not only to deepen the good relationships, but also to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two organizations.
