The Central Deposit Insurance Corporation of Taiwan (CDIC) and the Fondo Interbancario di Tutela dei Depositi of Italy (FITD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 20 June 2022. The MOU establishes formal cooperative relations between the two organizations with a goal to promote experience sharing, exchange and cooperation between Taiwan and Italy.
CDIC President William Su and FITD Director General Alfredo Pallini signed the MOU on behalf of the respective organizations through a virtual signing ceremony and exchanged experiences as well as recent developments after the ceremony. The CDIC and the FITD are both members of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) and its Executive Council members. Through the exchange platform provided by the IADI, the two sides have established mutually friendly and cooperative relations. The signing of the MOU will further enhance exchanges and information sharing between both sides and pave the way for closer cooperation.
In the future, the CDIC and the FITD will carry out ongoing information sharing and personnel exchanges to share expertise and experience, to help their respective organizations advance the deposit insurance systems, and to further protect the rights and interests of depositors.
