The SEACEN-FSI Seminar on "The Role of Banking Supervision in Financial Stability" is jointly organized for the first time by the SEACEN Centre and the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for 2 days from 27-28 November 2006 and targeted for senior bank officers at the deputy director level and above who are involved in banking supervision and financial stability matters. The Seminar was interactive, involving a combination of presentations from resource persons and round-table discussions among resource persons and participants.
Mr. Howard Wang, Executive Vice-President of CDIC, on behalf of CDIC was appointed to attend the SEACEN-FSI seminar. During the seminar, Mr. Howard Wang exchanged opinions with the central banks and banking supervisory agencies around the world in terms of Taiwan's financial supervisory and deposit insurance systems.
