Mr. Yutaka Nishigaki, Director of Office for Research and Intelligence of DICJ and his colleague paid a research visit to Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC, Taiwan) from 17 to 18 October, 2006. The visit reflected the mutual cooperation in effective support for exchange of information and personnel between CDIC and DICJ after signing the Letter of Exchange in August this year.
The main purpose of the research visit for the DICJ delegation was to further study the deposit insurance system in Taiwan. Hence, CDIC delivered detailed presentations on the topics of legal framework and the Amendment to Deposit Insurance Act, risk-based premium system, problem financial institutions resolution and the establishment and achievement of the Financial Restructuring Fund. The two parties further exchanged opinions on the difference between the deposit insurance systems in Taiwan and Japan.
