Mr. Dang Duy Cuong, General Director of Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) led a delegation consisting of members from relevant supervisory authorities, visited the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) in late July 2025. The CDIC Chairman Dr. Tien-Mu Huang, President Annie Cheng, Executive Vice President (EVP) Yvonne Fan and EVP Kuang-Hsi Huang cordially received the delegation. The bilateral meetings were chaired by President Cheng and EVP Fan. Presentations were delivered by the International Relations and Research Office, the Department of Risk Management, the Department of Resolution, and EVP Ms. Fan, covering topics such as Taiwan’s deposit insurance system, insured risk management, resolution measures, the information sharing and coordination mechanisms between CDIC and financial safety net members as well as key points of the draft revised Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems developed by the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI).
During the visit, the delegation also paid a visit to the Banking Bureau of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), where they were received by Director General Mr. Phil C.C. Tong. The Banking Bureau provided an overview of Taiwan’s banking sector and supervisory priorities. Both sides exchanged views on topics including financial safety net coordination mechanisms and information sharing, as well as handling of problem financial institutions.
Since signing the MOU in 2006, CDIC and DIV have actively interchanged through information exchanges and participation in meetings of international organizations. This time, DIV delegation’s visit is beneficial not only to deepen the official relationships, but to lay the groundwork for future cooperation and mutual learning between the two parties.
