The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) provides an important source of research materials. The Research Bibliography recently posted on the IADI website (www.iadi.org) will provide researchers with another tool to access various research papers in the area of deposit insurance.
The bibliography is in an Excel format and it contains references to over 700 papers (all in English) related to deposit insurance. The bibliography is classified into six areas, namely:
1)General theory and economics of deposit insurance (DI); 2) Design and structure of DI; 3) Funding, assessment and pricing of DI; 4) Failure resolution and crisis management; 5) Supervision and risk management, and; 6) Other issues relating to DI.
Among the research sources, the Annotated Bibliography prepared by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (Deposit Insurance: An Annotated Bibliography 1989-1999 and 2000-2003) was the main source data for this bibliography. Compared to FDIC's Annotated Bibliography, however, the bibliography prepared by IADI has some distinct features:
• it covers papers for a wide range of period from 1971 to 2007 including a large part of the papers from other research database sources such as IDEAS, SSRN, IMF, The World Bank, BIS, FRB, NBER, IADI Members and so forth;
• it mainly covers the papers closely related to common deposit insurance topics;
• it is prepared in an Excel format so that users may search and sort the bibliographies by author, topic, document type and issue date (year), and;
• it has direct website links to more than half of the papers in place to help users easily download those papers on-line.
