The term of the former Deputy Governor of Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) Mr. Mutsuo Hatano expired on Sept. 7, 2011. In order to strengthen the cooperative relationship between CDIC and the DICJ, Mr. Hatano and his successor Mr. Hiroyuki Obata paid a visit to CDIC, accompanied by DICJ Senior Manager Mr. Masayuki Sugihara. CDIC and DICJ are both founding members of International Association of Deposit Insurers and have established a formal bilateral cooperative relationship by signing a letter of exchange in 2006. During DICJ’s visit to CDIC, officials of the two organizations confirmed that they will continue to strengthen the cooperative tie through various forms of exchanges and activities, with a view to enhancing the deposit insurance systems of both countries.
