To further exchange bilateral experiences and share information so as to enhance the function of the deposit insurance system, the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) and Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) signed the Letter of Exchange in Tokyo, Japan on 30 August 2006.
In order to continuously strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two organizations, CDIC Executive Vice President Robert L. I Chen led the CDIC delegation to pay a visit to DICJ from September 13-16, 2011 in Tokyo, Japan, and had meetings with its Deputy Governor Hiroyuki Obata and Special Advisor Mr. Mutsuo Hatano. They shared and exchanged experiences and views on the recent development of the respective deposit insurance systems and the post-crisis challenges. DICJ also shared the resolution method and experience in handling Nihon Shinko Bank as well as the actual operation of the Second Bridge Bank. In the future, the two organizations will keep the ties close by exchanging of information and personnel, in the hope that both deposit insurance systems will be enhanced and advanced.
