CDIC President Howard N. H. Wang led a team of delegates to attend the Seminar on Mandate and Coordination of Safety Net Players in Intervention and Resolution hosted by the Deposit Protection Agency (DPA) in Bangkok, Thailand from August 30 to September 1, 2010. There were around 80 participants from DPA, Bank of Thailand and Ministry of Finance in Thailand, as well as deposit insurers from Indonesia, Japan and Taiwan.
The Seminar covered three sessions. The issues mainly included coordination mechanism among safety net players, intervention and resolution of financial institutions, Purchase and Assumption (P&A), Open Bank Assistance and bridge bank. CDIC President Wang was invited to be a speaker in Session Two and to share the Taiwan’s early intervention and bank resolution experience. The seminar ended successfully with good feedback from all audience.
