To further exchange bilateral experiences and share information so as to enhance the function of the deposit insurance system, the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) and Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) signed the Letter of Exchange in Tokyo, Japan on 30 August 2006.
In order to continuously strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two organizations, CDIC Chairman Fred Chen paid a visit to DICJ from May 12-15, 2010 in Tokyo, Japan, and had a meeting with its Governor Shunichi Nagata and Deputy Governor Mutsuo Hatano. They shared and exchanged experiences and views on the recent development of the respective deposit insurance systems and the post-crisis challenges. In the future, the two corporations will keep the ties close by exchanging of information and personnel, in the hope that both deposit insurance systems will be enhanced and advanced.
During this visit, Chairman Chen also had a courtesy call with representatives of the RCC (Resolution and Collection Corporation). They shared the experiences in resolving non-performing assets.
