After the signing of Letter of Exchange between CDIC and Deposit Insurance of Japan (DICJ) in August 2006, in order to enhance the bilateral relationship and cooperation, as well as to share the expertise and experience with DICJ, CDIC Chairman Mr. B. Dawn led a delegation to visit DICJ in Tokyo on December 16-19, 2007. The two parties exchanged the views and expereience in implementing the deposit insurance system and other related matters.
In the future, the CDIC together with the DICJ will continue, by means of bilateral exchanges of information and personnel, to provide professional expertise, so that both countries will become more proficient in the development of the deposit insurance systems.
During this visit, Chairman Dawn also had courtesy calls with representatives of the RCC and BB. They shared the experiences in resolving non-performing loans and establishing and operating the bridge bank.
