CDIC Executive Vice President (EVP) Yvonne Fan led a delegation to participate in the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) 82nd Executive Council (EXCO) and associated meetings, including those of the Analysis Council Committee, the Policy Council Committee and the Implementation Council Committee in Dubrovnik, Croatia from 27 to 29 May 2025.
In the 82nd EXCO meetings, various IADI's matters, including IADI strategic planning, publications policy, communications strategy, Core Principles consultation and pilot testing, appointment of Technical Committee Chairs, trends and developments in technological innovation and digitalisation, etc., were discussed. CDIC EVP Fan, as the Chairperson of the Analysis Council Committee, chaired the meeting during which the latest progress of ongoing research projects was discussed, and recommended to the EXCO on the new Chair of the Financial Technology Technical Committee. In addition, on the sidelines of the meeting, the CDIC delegation met with the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) delegation, led by KDIC Chairman JaeHoon Yoo, to share the views on the future development of IADI.
IADI domiciled at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland was established in May 2002. Currently it has 106 Members and 9 Associates. Since 2002, CDIC has been actively participating in IADI activities as a founding member of the Association, promoting important IADI activities and joining the decision-making process as a member of the EXCO since 2003, which is responsible for IADI's major policies.
