To promote bilateral exchanges of experiences and information, the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) and the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam (DIV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in December 2006, and the latest version was expired in December 2018. To continue enhancing cooperation from both sides, CDIC Chairman Mr. Michael Lin with the DIV Chairman Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy jointly announced the renewal of the MOU between the two organizations for another three years on 24 December 2018, to expand the bilateral cooperative relationship.
The delegation led by Chairman Lin also participated in the subsequent Joint International Workshop on Resolution and Public Awareness hosted by the DIV. Ms. Ying-Ying Lin, Director of the Resolution Department and Mr. Crown Chen, Director of the Business Department of the CDIC gave the presentations on“Resolution Regimes on Failing/Failed Financial Institutions ”and “Public Awareness on Deposit Insurance Systems” respectively in an attempt to share the CDIC experience with participants of the Workshop.
During the event, the CDIC Chairman Lin and the delegation also visited the DIV’s Regional Branch in Da Nang and had a MOU exchange meeting with representatives of the Da Nang Branch Office to discuss and share experience and information on issues of business assistance, off-site monitoring and risk management to local insured institutions.
